Metropolis II is currently on display at the LA County Museum of Art; a 20 by 30 ft kinetic sculpture created to represent modern day cities. According to the artist, ”The noise, the continuous flow of the trains, and the speeding toy cars, produces in the viewer the stress of living in a dynamic, active and bustling 21st Century city.” I’m not sure you need to go to a museum to experience that, but regardless, this looks pretty cool.

Stop paying rent! Kevin Cyr creates traveling “alternative apartments” out of bikes, campers, and shopping carts. Good for the environment, your wallet, your wanderlust, and will certainly turn some heads along the way…

NYC BIKESHARE!!

Breaking news. NYC is getting a bikeshare program! The Department of Transportation will be announcing this afternoon that Alta Bike Share of Portland Oregon, who created the successful bike share programs in DC and Boston, will be installing 600 bike share stations and over 10,000 bikes from Brooklyn to the Upper West Side! Hopefully the program will be up and running by next summer, and membership will cost less than a monthly metro card! Rejoice!
