Seattle-based artist Stacey Rozich (pictured above with cut outs of her creations) has a really amazing style of folk art illustrations, and has invented tons of awesome imaginary creatures that are hard not to compare to Where the Wild Things Are. Check ‘em out.

Metropolis II is currently on display at the LA County Museum of Art; a 20 by 30 ft kinetic sculpture created to represent modern day cities. According to the artist, ”The noise, the continuous flow of the trains, and the speeding toy cars, produces in the viewer the stress of living in a dynamic, active and bustling 21st Century city.” I’m not sure you need to go to a museum to experience that, but regardless, this looks pretty cool.
Ai Weiwei’s interactive Sunflower Seeds exhibit, containing one hundred million hand painted porcelain sunflower seeds, is currently on display at the Mary Boone Gallery.
Japanese based Haroshi makes sculptures out of recycled skate decks, and they’re pretty darn snazzy. They’ve teamed up with SF-based HUF and DLX to make some amazing limited edition works that will be available in January. Psyched to see more.
