Attn Brooklyn-based Momofuko fans - are you like me and refuse to go into the City on the weekends? Are you having an insane ramen craving? No worries, this Sunday, Brooklyn is bringing Momofuko to us, with Bed Stuy’s awesome and super weird Do or Dine recreating the original Momofuko menu to mark Do or Dine’s one year anniversary. This may be your only chance to enjoy Momofuko in BK (for cheap!), and to see if Do or Dine can do Momofuko justice.

Smorgasburg + boat cruise = Smorgasboat. On June 13th, Smorgasburg is holding a sunset cruise from Williamsburg to the Statue of Liberty featuring Smorgasburg food vendors, Brooklyn Brewery and Brooklyn Roasting Co. A $45 ticket covers you for food, drinks, and the afterparty on the rooftop at the King & Grove, and tickets benefit City Harvest. Looks like a pretty good way to celebrate summer in Brooklyn.

Lunchtime. This is what the food diary of a graphic designer looks like: delicious.

New York Mouth is the latest thing I’ve found that I wish I hadn’t found. Based in Brooklyn, this is like food nerd/design nerd heaven. These guys curate an incredible selection of locally sourced delicious food, and then organize it for you for the most amazing, mouth-watering care packages and gifts ever. Most of their products are from smaller local companies, helping artisanal businesses to grow. Don’t spend too long on their page, you will absolutely start drooling.

I’m so psyched to be attending both days of the Great Googa Mooga. Hall & Oates and pork buns, here I come.

Drive-In Dinner

This year, Edible Brooklyn and the Brooklyn Brewery will be hosting a Drive-In Dinner, featuring the borough’s best food trucks! The Red Hook Lobster Pound, Morris Grilled Cheese, Feed Your Hole, Bongo Brothers and Coolhaus will be providing a 5-course tasting menu, with Brooklyn Brewery providing beer pairings for each course. Looks awesome, grab your tickets here!

Victory Chicken

There’s been a huge boom in many cities in urban farming and eating local, and one of the next steps here in BK is backyard/rooftop chicken coops. As absurd as it may sound, many folks are doing it right; including a company called Victory Chicken, that has set up a system where you can RENT hens, a coop, and feed on a month to month basis, in case you fail… So for all you fledgling urban farmers out there, it’s springtime, so get on it! How can you resist a name like Victory Chicken?

Dine In Brooklyn 2012

Dine In Brooklyn is coming up, starting this Monday! At over 150 participating restaurants all over our fine borough, you can get a delicious 3 course meal for only $25 bucks. Any dates you’ve been meaning to go on, now is the time to plan them! Last year, the bf and I went to The Smokejoint in Ft. Greene for this event…highly recommended for all BBQ lovers. Full list of restaurants here!

GREAT GOOGA MOOGA

There’s not a whole lot of info out there about The Great Googa Mooga, except for that it’s happening in my backyard, Prospect Park, from May 19th-20th. It’s a festival curated by Superfly Presents, the people behind Bonnaroo, but the focus so far seems to be more on local food and drink rather than music, although there will apparently be 10 local and nationally known bands performing each day (TBA). What we do know is that Anthony Bourdain, Tom Colicchio, Brooklyn Brewery, The Spotted Pig, Roberta’s, Aziz Ansari, and “members of LCD Soundsystem” are all on board, and that admission is free! Registration starts March 15th at noon, so get your ticket-snagging fingers ready, this looks like it’s going to be good.
