Official music video for Dr. John’s “Revolution”; his awesome collaboration with Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys. This was filmed during their performance at the Brooklyn Academy of Music last month, which I was lucky enough to attend!

YES. Here is “I Am What I Am” by Spiritualized off the upcoming Sweet Heart Sweet Light which you can stream it in its entirety at NPR. This track has a gospel-y feel, and was one of my immediate favorites, and I just learned it was co-written by Dr. John, which just made it a million times better. The rest of the album is sounding great too, head over there and give it a listen!

On April 5th (my birthday!) New Orleans legend Dr. John and Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys will be playing together at BAM. Just found out my super-rad bf got us tickets, so I’ll be there! Dan and The Night Tripper be performing tracks from their upcoming album Locked Down, which is out April 3rd, and if the show is anything like the setlist Dan is holding, it’s going to be awesome. As a taste of what’s to come: check out the duo’s first single “Revolution” over at Rolling Stone.
Rest in Peace, Etta James. An amazing woman. Here is the late singer performing an incredible version of “I’d Rather Go Blind” with Dr. John.
Yotube Gold: Dr. John is simply the man. Capital M.

Are you kidding me. This is beyond amazing. FREE three day festival in Golden Gate Park featuring Ryan Bingham and the Dead Horses, Robert Plant and the Band of Joy, Cass McCombs, Woods, Blind Boys of Alabama, Those Darlins, Justin Townes Earle, Dr. John and the Lower 911, Bela Fleck, John Prine, Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings, Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Jessica Lea Mayfield, Kurt Vile and the Violaters, Charlie Musselwhite, Broken Social Scene, M. Ward and MC HAMMER. And so many more. Please, if you are anywhere on the West Coast, for the love of God go to this. I’m already plotting how I can get my broke self there from Brooklyn.
