Frankie Rose - Intersteller

Ex-Vivian Girl and Crystal Stilts member Frankie Rose’s album Intersteller came out yesterday, amongst a flurry of praise for her ability to combine dark 90’s rock with a reverb-heavy 60’s vibe. Personally, I was less than impressed, but Stereogum had some very nice things to say:

“All the sounds on Interstellar are simply gorgeous. The synths ripple and glimmer like pondwater in starlight; they’re some of the most perfectly recorded keyboards you’re likely to hear anywhere these days. And the album’s more organic elements, its guitars and strings and drums, are just as crystalline.”
